Desde 24MX Hixpania Hard Enduro queremos informar acerca de lo ocurrido durante la Main Race del pasado domingo:

Alrededor de las 11:45h, quince minutos antes de la salida, varios pilotos se agruparon en una de las trialeras iniciales y manifestaron su negativa a realizar gran parte del recorrido final Hixpania Hill. Acto seguido, acudieron a hablar con el organizador para exigir modificaciones en el track.

En ese momento, a falta de tan solo 15 minutos para el inicio, resultaba materialmente imposible implementar los cambios solicitados. Cabe recordar que todo el recorrido había sido reconocido por los pilotos el viernes 19, sin que se reportara entonces ningún inconveniente a la organización. No obstante, desde la organización les dijimos que realizaríamos algunos de estos cambios de acuerdo con sus reivindicaciones acerca de la seguridad.

Igualmente, la organización no aceptó modificar otra serie de cambios en el recorrido, ya que desde la organización entendemos que la parte final de Hixpania es un tramo de un nivel técnico superior en el que puedan cometerse errores, producirse adelantamientos… y así mantener la expectación hasta el último instante de llegada a la meta. Es lo que entendemos que espera el público de Hixpania Hill, y por ello no accedimos a todas las modificaciones reivindicadas. Insistimos, aquellos cambios que “por seguridad” nos solicitaron, se realizaron aún con la carrera en marcha.

A pesar de ello, algunos pilotos de cabeza de carrera decidieron plantarse como forma de reivindicación, así como saltarse voluntariamente y pese a estar correctamente balizado, señalado e indicado por un marshall, parte del recorrido final. Saltarse parte del recorrido tuvo como consecuencia que el orden de llegada a meta no se corresponda con la clasificación final, sino que se tenga en cuenta los dos únicos pilotos que completaron el 100% del recorrido (Graham Jarvis P1 y Sony Goggia P2). El resto de la clasificación se estableció acorde al CP anterior. Dichos resultados quedaron aprobados estableciéndose como oficiales tras la reunión del jurado FIM.

Desde la organización lamentamos profundamente que, de existir algún desacuerdo con el track, no se comunicase con antelación, ya que para nosotros escuchar la opinión y criterio profesional de los pilotos siempre es enriquecedor. No obstante, insistimos en que todos los pilotos tuvieron la oportunidad de revisarlo el viernes, además de que cada paso fue validado previamente en moto por nuestro equipo de tracks manager, para garantizar la viabilidad.

Desde 24MX Hixpania Hard Enduro entendemos y respetamos el derecho de los pilotos a expresar sus reivindicaciones, así como que eligieran Hixpania como escenario para hacerlo si consideran que contribuye a la evolución del deporte. Sin embargo, rechazamos que esta reivindicación vaya en perjuicio de nuestros espectadores, a quienes les debemos nuestro máximo respeto ya que son ellos los verdaderos protagonistas y el alma de cualquier competición, que merecen disfrutar del mejor espectáculo.

Por último, queremos poner en valor el esfuerzo del equipo organizador, staff, track managers, directores de carrera, comisarios y voluntarios, quienes trabajamos de manera conjunta para ofrecer el evento de mayor calidad posible, y trasladamos nuestro compromiso de seguir mejorando para ofrecer el próximo año, en nuestro décimo aniversario, el mejor espectáculo que hayamos realizado nunca.

From 24MX Hixpania Hard Enduro we wish to inform you about what happened during the Main Race last Sunday:

At around 11:45 a.m., fifteen minutes before the start, several riders gathered on one of the initial sections and expressed their refusal to complete much of the final Hixpania Hill course. They then approached the organizer to demand changes to the track.

At that moment, with only 15 minutes to go before the start, it was materially impossible to implement the requested changes. It should be remembered that the entire course had been inspected by the riders on Friday the 19th without any issues being reported to the organization. Nevertheless, we told them we would make some of these changes according to their safety concerns.

Likewise, the organization did not accept another series of changes to the route, since we understand that the final part of Hixpania is a section of a higher technical level where mistakes can be made, overtaking can occur… and thus the suspense is maintained until the very last moment at the finish line. This is what we understand the public at Hixpania Hill expects, and therefore we did not agree to all the requested modifications. We stress that those changes requested “for safety reasons” were indeed carried out even while the race was underway.

Despite this, some of the leading riders decided to stage a protest and voluntarily skip —despite being correctly marked, signposted and indicated by a marshal— part of the final course. Skipping part of the track resulted in the order of arrival at the finish line not matching the final classification. Therefore, only the two riders who completed 100% of the course (Graham Jarvis P1 and Sony Goggia P2) were taken into account. The rest of the classification was established according to the previous checkpoint. These results were approved and made official after the FIM jury meeting.

We deeply regret that, if there was any disagreement with the track, it was not communicated in advance, since for us listening to the professional opinions and criteria of the riders is always enriching. Nevertheless, we insist that all riders had the opportunity to review it on Friday, and each section had been previously validated on a motorcycle by our track managers to ensure feasibility.

At 24MX Hixpania Hard Enduro we understand and respect the riders’ right to express their demands, as well as choosing Hixpania as the stage to do so if they consider it contributes to the evolution of the sport. However, we reject that this protest harms our spectators, to whom we owe our utmost respect, as they are the true protagonists and the soul of any competition, and they deserve to enjoy the best possible show.

Finally, we want to acknowledge the efforts of the organizing team, staff, track managers, race directors, marshals and volunteers, who work together to deliver the highest quality event. We reaffirm our commitment to keep improving so that next year, on our 10th anniversary, we can offer the best spectacle we have ever produced.
